Brewery Ommegang (Cooperstown, NY): Three Philosophers, 9.8% ABV

I meant to review this after I had it on Christmas but I got too drunk. Whoops.

Anyway. This beer is really freaking good.

It smells like cherry and raisin at first and then that 9.8% of alcohol punches you square in the face. On the first sip, it tastes exactly like it smells, but it mellows out with the second and third so you come to appreciate the complexity and all that junk.

In short: Super enjoyable. One of the better beers I’ve had — top 10, probably. Oh, and it will get you drunk.

Grade: A
